SGA’s Vaccine Equity and Access Program (VEAP) aims to increase COVID-19 and influenza vaccine coverage. SGA is proud to partner with EverThrive Illinois for the third year of the VEAP Initiative. SGA and EverThrive IL are committed to addressing health disparities and advancing health equity, especially in communities of color. Together, our goal is to develop effective health communication and community engagement strategies to increase COVID-19 and influenza vaccine confidence and acceptance.
Our Community Advocates are active in south and west side communities, conducting educational training sessions and participating in community outreach events and vaccination opportunities. Weekly outreach events are held at Olive-Harvey Community College and local high schools, and our staff routinely participates in neighborhood events and resource fairs. We want to increase vaccine confidence and promote empowerment because everyone should feel in control of their health.
